COMMUNITY Group are proud once again to sponsor our partner club Richmond Rugby’s Men’s First XV home and away jerseys.
Our Community Partner has begun an exciting return to the Greene King IPA Championship.
Richmond wore their new home shirts for the first time in a competitive fixture during Saturday’s clash with Cornish Pirates at the Richmond Athletic Ground, with the Community Group logo located on the left shoulder of the Canterbury-made jersey.
Community Group and Richmond confirmed a new two-year partnership in August 2020 which sees Community Group driving the community engagement strategy.
The collaboration, now into its fourth year, continues to go from strength to strength with an extensive schools community programme established.
Our partner club delivers sports provision in 12 local primary/prep schools and seven secondary schools, as well as running the ground-breaking rugby programme in Feltham Youth Offenders Institute. Richmond also operate a joint rugby programme with several local schools, and offer rugby camps for kids to attend during the school holidays.
The programme also provides extensive support to the Richmond mini and youth sections, helping to bolster engagement and playing numbers, as well supporting the delivery of various coaching and refereeing courses and providing community coaching support every Sunday throughout the season.
Most recently, the community department managed a team of volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic collecting food for the vulnerable, supporting the launch and delivery of the club’s meals initiative as well as the collection of second-hand technology to aid children with their home schooling.
Community Group Managing Director, Simon Price said: “We are delighted to be extending our sponsorship agreement with Richmond Rugby. Whilst the last 12 months have been challenging, we are all hopeful that there is a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel, and we can start to enjoy watching some rugby again.”
Jimmy Wallace, Richmond Rugby Commercial Director, added: “Community Group has been a fantastic partner of ours in recent years and they have overseen some excellent initiatives undertaken by our Community Department since the start of the pandemic. It is always enjoyable dealing with Matt & Simon and their team, who are all great supporters of the club, and we look forward to enhancing our partnership further.”
Community Group specialise in community and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement on behalf of both sports clubs and businesses.
