Phill Mills to lead Fylde Rugby Community Foundation’s coaching delivery

COMMUNITY Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Phill Mills as Head of Community Coaching at Fylde Rugby Community Foundation.

His appointment marks the next step for the charitable foundation which was launched just recently.

Community Group have been in partnership with Fylde Rugby Club since 2018 and will continue to play a key role with the Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, with our Managing Director, Matt Price a trustee.

Other trustees are Sir Bill Beaumont CBE DL – Chairman of World Rugby, David Craven – Chairman of Next Generation travel, David Young – Chairman of Fylde Rugby Club, Tony Attard OBE DL – CEO Panaz Group, Martin Long – Chairman of the Lancashire Committee of Wooden Spoon and David Wiseman – Club Secretary at Fylde Rugby.

Phill comes into the role with a wealth of coaching experience.

Following his Sports Coaching degree at the University of Central Lancashire, he started his journey at Preston Grasshoppers RFC before setting up a tag rugby coaching business.

Phill recently worked as a community coach for the Rugby Football Union and is looking forward to his new role.

He said: “I’m excited to get going. I’m passionate about coaching and helping to grow school sports. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve at Fylde Rugby Community Foundation. The trustees are really keen to push it forward and use their abilities to champion the ‘Rugby For All’ motto. The work Community Group do with vulnerable people, as well the camps and helping clubs sustain their community departments is really inspiring and great to now be a part of.”

Community Group Chairman, Matt Price added: “We are delighted Phill has joined us to lead the coaching delivery of the Foundation. We are very much looking forward to delivering the Foundations motto of ‘Rugby For All’ and in Phill we believe we have the right person to lead this.”
