COMMUNITY Group is pleased to announce that Sam Verralls has been appointed our Head of Community at new partners Silhillians RUFC.

Sam is no stranger to the company, having been employed as a Rugby Development Manager at Bournville RFC since last summer, and he now steps up to this exciting challenge.

He will lead the community department at Silhillians RUFC, which became a Community Group partner in July 2022. Sam is tasked with helping the West Midlands-based club realise their vision of a more diverse, responsible and inclusive environment for its members and wider community.

Sam joined the company already with more than nine years’ worth of experience in various rugby and community sport roles, including full-time positions at Worcester Warriors and Wasps Rugby.

He is looking forward to taking on the role at Silhillians RUFC and making an impact in the local community.

Sam said: “I’m delighted to be able to work alongside Silhillians RUFC in enriching the surrounding community. I know how invested the club is in continuing to create a community hub for local people and working with them to drive a diverse and inclusive range of provision will only build on that. Having worked at Community Group for a year now, I know how impactful the role is that we play in creating sustainable opportunities and a positive relationship with sports and physical activity. Being able to support the community in an established, forward-thinking sports club is an exciting prospect.”

Community Group Managing Director, Simon Price, added: “I am delighted to see Sam promoted to the role of Head of Community with Silhillians RUFC. Sam’s passion and drive in support of our communities is evident and I am confident Silhillians RUFC and the wider community will benefit from his drive. Congratulations on the new role, Sam.”
