COMMUNITY Group is delighted to announce Southend RFC as a new Community Partner Club.

The Essex outfit join a host of Championship, National League 1, National League 2 and regional clubs in partnering with Community Group to form and operate their community department through coaching delivered by club community coaches.

Southend RFC boast a strong Minis and Juniors section with teams of all abilities from Under 6 to Under 18. The club also has five senior men’s teams and a women’s XV, as well as a development ladies side.

Powered by Community Group, the community department will engage with the local schools in coaching all sports with a rugby focus while also supporting the community as a whole.

Southend RFC Director of Rugby, Josh Ward said: “Securing a partnership with Community Group is a massive step in the right direction. From the start, we’ve wanted to be unique and innovative in how we operate both on and off the field, being accessible and supplying opportunities for all is at the forefront of our whole club vision. At a time where people of all ages are looking for support with all forms of their wellbeing, I’m delighted that we, alongside Community Group, will be accessible to members of our local community on a regular basis going forwards.”
